Mulch and Rock Installation in Porter, Lake and LaPorte County
Mulch and rock is the fastest change you can make to the front of a house. We clean the bed out, cut a real edge, then install to an even depth so it looks like one continuous bed instead of patches. Black mulch, brown mulch or river rock and stone, your call.
Every Mulch & Rock visit
- Bed cleanout of old leaves, weeds and dead growth
- Hand cut spade edge or edging material where the bed meets turf
- Mulch installed to even depth and pulled back off trunks and siding
- Decorative rock and river stone installed over fabric where it makes sense
- Beds shaped and squared up around walks and downspouts
- Cleanup of walks and drives before we leave
What we do not do
Said up front so nobody wastes a phone call.
- Rubber mulch
Mulch or rock
Both work, they just fail in different ways. We tell you which one fits the bed instead of selling you the same thing everywhere.
- Mulch holds moisture and feeds soil, and needs a refresh every year or two
- Rock stays put on slopes and under downspouts where mulch washes out
- Mixing them, rock in the wash zones and mulch around plantings, is often the right answer
The edge is what people notice
A tired bed is usually a bed with a blurry edge. Grass creeps in, mulch spills out, and the whole front looks unkept.
- Clean spade cut or installed edging holds the line all season
- Curves cut smooth, not scalloped
- Mulch depth stops at the edge so it does not spill onto the lawn

Booking Mulch & Rock
Measure the beds
We measure square footage, count the yards needed and give you a price by material.
Clean out and edge
Old debris and weeds come out, the edge gets cut, and we haul the waste off.
Install and clean up
Material goes in at even depth, walks and drives get blown off, and the trailer takes the rest with it.

Mulch & Rock questions
How often does mulch need to be redone?
Most beds want a refresh once a year to keep the color and depth. Some hold two seasons if they were installed deep and stayed clean.
Can you put rock over an existing mulch bed?
We strip the old mulch out first. Rock over decomposing mulch settles unevenly and weeds come right through.
