Landscape Design and Installation in Wheeler, IN
Half acre lots leave room for a real plan, so the beds are drawn at the scale of the property.
On a big Wheeler lot, a single small bed by the front door looks like an afterthought. The scale of the property asks for longer bed lines, bigger groupings of shrubs and perennials, and a layout that works from the road, not just from the porch. We walk the entire lot first: where the sun and shade fall, where runoff drains and where it ponds, how the outbuildings and the drive sit. The beds are dug out and graded before planting begins, plants are chosen for mature size, and stone paths go in over a compacted base. Soil in each planting hole is prepared first, and the install is finished with a mulch or rock cover and a clean edge. Irrigation systems and poured concrete are not part of our work.

Do you charge for the design?
The estimate visit and the on site layout are free. We price the install.
Can you work around plants I want to keep?
Yes. Healthy shrubs and trees get worked into the new layout, or transplanted if they are in the wrong spot.
What time of year is best to plant?
Spring and fall are easiest on new plants in Northwest Indiana. Summer installs work fine as long as you keep water on them.
