Landscape Design and Installation in Valparaiso, IN
Older Valparaiso homes need shade plantings and rebuilt foundation beds, while the newer edges need real beds where builders left a strip.
Two jobs come up again and again. On the older streets the original foundation plantings have outgrown the windows and the canopy has closed over what used to be a sunny bed, so the plan swaps in shade tolerant shrubs and perennials and moves the bed line to where the lawn can still grow. On the newer subdivision lots in full sun, the builder left a thin strip of mulch and a few shrubs, and the job is to lay out a real bed with room for plants at their mature size. We walk it with you, mark the layout on site and price the plants, material, labor and finish mulch or rock together. On clay, planting holes get soil prep so roots do not sit in a bowl of water.

- Layout marked on site before any digging starts
- Planting holes prepped so clay does not hold water around roots

Do you charge for the design?
The estimate visit and the on site layout are free. We price the install.
Can you work around plants I want to keep?
Yes. Healthy shrubs and trees get worked into the new layout, or transplanted if they are in the wrong spot.
What time of year is best to plant?
Spring and fall are easiest on new plants in Northwest Indiana. Summer installs work fine as long as you keep water on them.
