Landscape Design and Installation in Crown Point, IN
A new Crown Point build is a blank slate, so the whole front yard gets planned together instead of one bed at a time.
Newer Crown Point properties tend to come with sod, a driveway and a token bed, and that leaves a lot of room to decide. We start with a walk of the lot, noting where the house shades the front, where the street side takes the afternoon sun, and where the downspouts discharge. The beds are drawn to fit those facts, with plant sizes chosen at maturity so nothing is crowding a window in a few seasons. Because the soil underneath is clay, planting holes get soil prep and beds are shaped so water leaves them. Installation follows with the same people who planned it: excavation, planting, flagstone paths over a tamped base, then a mulch or rock finish with a crisp edge. We do not do irrigation systems or poured concrete.

Do you charge for the design?
The estimate visit and the on site layout are free. We price the install.
Can you work around plants I want to keep?
Yes. Healthy shrubs and trees get worked into the new layout, or transplanted if they are in the wrong spot.
What time of year is best to plant?
Spring and fall are easiest on new plants in Northwest Indiana. Summer installs work fine as long as you keep water on them.
